How To Prepare For Your Boudoir Session
Most women are very worried about what they look like and think that they need to be models or be skinny to have nice photos. However, most women are not super models or size 2 waist but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have beautiful, sexy photos! Boudoir photographers will know how to highlight your best features and avoid parts that you are not so in favor of.
Know what you are comfortable with showing in your photos but you really do not need to take your clothes off to be sexy. Assumed nudity or partially clothed can still be sexy! Be sure to let me know what you are not comfortable with.
Most people think that boudoir photos mean lingerie or nudity. The truth is, you may choose to include anything you want in your session. You will never be asked to wear anything or pose in anyway that would make you uncomfortable. The list of things you can wear, bring or do is endless!
{Before Your Session}
Exfoliate your face and body.
Consider how your fingernails and toenails look. Get a manicure and pedicure and make sure everything is neat and clean. A good polish will only add to your photos.
Get your eyebrows done.
Shave/wax~ you’ll want to do it at least 24 hours before your session.
Stay away from the sun in the days before your session. While a sun-kissed look is often pleasing, it won’t be in your photos, since tan lines are nearly impossible to remove.
Notes on spray tanning~ If you have never spray tanned before, or experience uneven results, please do a trial run before your session. I do retouch your portraits, although sunburn and skin blending is time consuming and there will be extra fees if you wish to have retouched.
Cut tags from see through lingerie.
Hair & Makeup-Professional makeup and false lashes are strongly recommended to add the drama to your photos. Photography makeup tends to be a little on the heavier side than what you would apply day to day but that is because the flash takes away a bit of the heaviness and creates a sensual dramatic look.
{Day Of Session}
Arrive with clean and moisturized skin.
Brush your lips with a toothbrush to remove dry skin.
Lather up with body lotion.
Wear loose clothing the day of your session. Tight – or even form-fitting – clothing will leave marks on your body, and we want your skin to be as smooth and flawless as possible. If you’re comfortable doing so, go without underclothes; this little secret of yours might even help you get into a sexy mindset.
Drink plenty of water the day of and in the days before your session. This will ensure that your skin is hydrated, which will also make sure your makeup goes on more smoothly and your skin has a healthy glow. You might even consider exfoliating (gently!) a few days prior to your session and moisturize before getting dressed on the day of.
Be sure to eat before your session. Not a huge meal, but the session will take a while and you’ll need your energy to hold some of those fantastic poses, so eat at least a light meal. And feel free to bring snacks with you (that won’t mess with your makeup).
If you use a white deodorant, eliminate it the day of your session! Your clothes and your skin will remain the colors they should be.
I highly recommend having professional makeup done so using a Professional Makeup Artist is a must and I attempt to provide that for you at no extra cost however a tip to the makeup artist is recommended.
{Things To Bring}
You will have access to my client closet and I have about 10 sexy corsets in all colors and sizes so no need to go buy one just for this shoot, I also have body suits and lace robes and other stuff so if the budget is tight you are free to use something from my closet.
